Unexpected use cases with Rex

by FErki (Berlin.pm)

Unexpected use cases with Rex aimed at Any and is held in English. This talk starts on 2020-03-05 at 10:50 for 40 minutes. It takes place at the Room 1 united-domains.

There is more than one way to manage it. Rex is friendly to any combinations of local and remote execution, push and pull style of management, or imperative and declarative approach. The talk starts with an introduction to Rex and shows its default use cases, before continuing comparing the different approaches through brief examples.

Once this context is established, the talk shifts the focus to extensibility. The live demo shows a series of unexpected use cases collected over the history of the project. Roughly in order of increasing complexity there are examples like publish-subscribe pattern for IoT devices, integration with job queues, event-driven configuration management, and reusing code written in other languages.
