In the history of various arts, there have been turning points in expression which have, in turn, led to perceptual changes. The shift from Victorian to modern poetry at the beginning of the 20th century led to more open and free verse and a shift from controlling nature to embracing it. Similarly in the history of Perl, there have been significant turning points which have led to people perceiving and approaching the language differently.
The Perl community has done a fantastic job healing over the past few years, but there may be a huge shock coming at the end of this year. When Perl 6 is declared production ready what will this turning point mean and will we be ready for it?
