At Nestoria we geocode our property listings: we take text input and turn it into a latitude and longitude. What's a good language for handling massive amounts of semi-random text data: Perl :-)
I will describe our approach to geocoding in detail, and share some fun examples of geocoding in challenging places like India and Mexico.
