1st October Announcement
Today is the first day of October which indicates that there are less than nineteen whole days until the final submission date for papers at this year's London Perl Workshop are left. If you are going to submit, and this includes submitting a lightning talk, then now is the time to do so. Don't leave it until the last moment, the longer we see papers submitted for the more fondly we think about them.
I am hoping that some of you will consider submitting the much longer workshop style presentations. In particular it would be good to see beginning workshops in the many successful Perl projects such as Catalyst, DBIx::Class, Mojolicious, Rakudo and Dancer, as well as the other elements of Perl.
Our aim at the workshop is to introduce as many new people to Perl and the community as possible and we particularly encourage people who are new to the language, and community, to come along and soak up the atmosphere.
Please ensure you spread the message as far and as wide as possible, a large number of people have always expressed surprise that the event is on and the date, they are also unaware that the event is free to attend, with a host of other free initiatives including the training, and totally sponsor supported.
The London Perl Workshop (the United Kingdom's Perl Workshop) will be held on: Saturday 24th November 2012 - University of Westminster - Cavendish Square Campus. Our theme this year is '25 Years of Perl', now is also the time to register for the event so that we have a good idea of the number of attendees for the day.
