Every second smartphone uses Google Android. The OS is also available for tablets and set top boxes.
In this talk, I present how to compile and install Perl on Android devices using the example of a appliance that bridges two networks. I will talk about the peculiarities of Android that you need to keep in mind while developing for Android, focussing on the file system and user permissions. The talk will also look at incompatibilities and their causes.
The talk will not demonstrate how to create Apps on Android with Perl
