Generating text is an easy task with the power of Perl at our disposal. Still, one may wonder, why do it? And how can the fact, that we can simulate man-made output, be used to our advantage?
I'd like to present some examples where generating natural language commentary can be useful, fun or both. One example will deal with chess commentary. Another - with providing random status updates. Finally, some ways to incorporate the presented mechanisms in software testing will be shown.
