In the applied Perl talk the Seal - postgres database browser is presented.

When building company level software which data is generally stored in databases some middle level of abstraction is needed. This need arises because companies needs pace fast and accordingly the software has to.

Seal is an example of that middle level software. For the Seal native database was chosen Postgresql. Seal has two interfaces: desktop one (called Seal) and web one (called WebSeal). Both interfaces are written in Perl. For the desktop interface the "normal" language was replaced by specially invented DSL (domain specific language) – sao scripts – which are performed by Seal virtual machine (or runtime). For the web interface there are prepared serious modules in Perl which are performed as fastCGI process on internet server.
