Mojoconf presentations on YouTube

30/05/14 17:19 by Jan Henning Thorsen (‎batman‎)

We have created a Google+ profile and YouTube channel for the conference presentations. Most of the presentations are already uploaded, but there are some waiting for confirmation.

If your don't know what happened with your presentation, then please let us know and we will try to fix it.

We want to say thank you to NUUG, which made it possible to record and distribute the presentations.

The YouTube edit of the videos were created with perl + avconv + imagemagick.

Mojoconf 2014 is done; What about 2015?

24/05/14 18:25 by Salve J. Nilsen (‎sjn‎)

Next year, we'd love to see another Mojoconf organized!

To help this happen, the Mojoconf 2014 organizers donate €2000 to the next year's organizers. If you would like to organize it, state your interest publicly in the #mojo IRC channel on irc.perl.org; The Mojolicious core team gets to figure out who wins the honor! :)

Thanks for a great conference, and we hope to see everyone at the hackathon on Sunday, and if not; then at next year's Mojoconf!

Cheers!

Post-conference social at Kulturhuset, Youngstorget 3!

We'll celebrate a successful conference at the pub downstairs (same building as the venue).

Everyone is welcome! :D

Pre-conference meetup on Crowbar

21/05/14 13:21 by Jan Henning Thorsen (‎batman‎)

The pre-conference meetup will be at Crowbar, a micro brewery just five minutes from the venue. Look for table signes with "Mojoconf" on them, or look for fellow Mojo-hackers.

Time: Friday, 23rd of May, 17:30
Address: Torggata 32.
Food: You can get small snacks and kebab. (I recommend the kebab)

Check out Tripadvisor and Google maps for more information and directions.

Feel free to sign up at the Meetup event if you are coming!

Prerequisites for the course got updated

16/05/14 08:26 by Jan Henning Thorsen (‎batman‎)

The prerequisites for the course got updated:

Students are recommended to bring laptops running OSX or Linux. Windows will work for much of the labs, although high performance examples may not operate as expected.

Please arrive with Perl 5.16.3+, Mojolicious 4.98+, App::cpanminus and Modern::Perl installed. For those using earlier versions of Perl, http://perlbrew.pl is recommended. Please contact us if you have questions or need help arriving prepared.

Read the full list on Training page. Got questions? Don't wait to ask us. (You can also reach us via IRC chat!)

Mojoconf 2014 - Call for papers / Call for speakers

21/02/14 23:22 by Nicolas Mendoza (‎nicomen‎)

TL;DR

As previously announced the first Mojolicious related conference ever, Mojoconf 2014, will be hosted by Oslo.pm in Oslo, Norway during the weekend of May 23rd to 25th.

A big part of the conference will be Saturday's presentations. This will be the only day for presentations as Friday will have a course, and Sunday is reserved for a hackathon session.

We would like to invite anyone that wants to hold a talk related to Mojolicious, Perl and the web. In addition we will have a smaller track with related technologies, so we welcome talks about related technologies such as javascript frameworks like Angular or React.js, storage solutions like MongoDB or Redis, or web technologies like Varnish and Nginx.

Do you have a good story, some specific technology you have used, a particular product you have made, breakthroughs or even failures, don't hesitate in submitting your talk.

We are aiming for talks lasting either 20 minutes or 40 minutes, but we are flexible in length or presentation form, please contact us for more information. If you're interested in holding a shorter talk, send us a note, we might hold a lightening talks session as well.

The deadline for submitting talks is set to March 15th April 5th.

If your talk is accepted, you will of course get free admission to the event.

Submit a talk! Contact us: mojoconf@oslo.pm
