I have a lot of photographic projects on the go, and many of them are shot on film. I need to be able to scan that film to a high enough quality for:

* Large prints
* High quality reproductions in book form
* Archiving

The problem? Scanning technology is dead. It's been dead for twenty years. No company is working in this space anymore so you have to figure out a solution yourself. That might include: dead operating systems, antique connectivity, closed source software that hasn't been updated in a decade, discontinued components, fractured online information, and other red herrings.

I think I figured this out though. I'll take you through the three year journey to get there.
