Schedule for YAPC::Europe 2012 is online

09/08/12 19:14 by Max Maischein (‎Corion‎)

After hard work and many trade-offs, we have finished the schedule for this years YAPC::Europe (iCal export).

Unfortunately it is likely that there still are talk conflicts where you would like to attend two or more talks at the same time. We are recording some of the tracks, so hopefully you can watch the talks you missed after the event.

YAPC::Europe Pre-Conference meetup on Sunday 19th August

18/07/12 18:04 by Max Maischein (‎Corion‎)

If you arrive on or before Sunday, there is an informal meetup on Sunday evening, 18:30 in the Café Extrablatt near the Bockenheim Campus of the University.

It would be good for us if we have a rough estimate of how many people plan to attend. So if you plan on coming, please head over to the wiki and add your name.

See you in Frankfurt!

Call for Papers closed

18/07/12 17:53 by Max Maischein (‎Corion‎)

The Call for Papers is now closed! We'd like to thank everybody who submitted a talk proposal. Without you and your talks an event like YAPC::Europe would not be possible.

We recieved more than 80 talk proposals. And we've already accepted more than 50 talks. You can find the list at http://act.yapc.eu/ye2012/talks.

Our final voting round ends on Friday.

It will take a few days to create the schedule. It will be announced here...

Call for Speakers

05/02/12 23:13 by Renee Bäcker (‎reneeb‎)

We are ready to accept talk proposals. There are two standard talk slots this year: 20 and 40 minutes. Exceptions are available for keynotes and small teaching classes: 60 and 120 minutes.

We also plan to have three sessions of lightning talks, one per each conference day.

To submit a talk, please visit http://act.yapc.eu/ye2012/newtalk and fill the form. We kindly request to carefully select target audience (beginner, intermediate, advanced, or any): it will help potential attendees to decide if they are going to attend the talk.

All the approved speakers (except those who give lightning talks only) attend the conference free of charge.

Talk submission deadline is 15th July 2012 (six weeks before the conference). Latest approval notification: 31st of July. We will evaluate talk submissions every three weeks and accept a handful proposals. This doesn't mean that if your talk isn't approved right away, it won't be. However, the sooner you get your talk proposals in, the better chance you have of getting a talk approved and placed on the schedule.

Our deadline for proposals is July 15, 2012. So get those proposals in now. This year, there's no time for procrastination, because the slots will be getting filled up in real-time.

This year we plan to have proceedings, so please prepare a paper when your talk is approved. We will post more details in time.
