This talk will introduce the recently released Perl implementation of the OpenTelemetry API and SDK.

There will be a brief overview of what OpenTelemetry is and the challenges of starting a new Perl implementation from scratch. We will cover some of its most prominent features, its immediate challenges, how it is currently being used, and how it can help authors of both CPAN libraries and stand-alone applications to get better insight into their works ... today!
