cperl - The future of perl

by Reini Urban (‎rurban‎) (

cperl - The future of perl aimed at Any and is held in Deutsch. This talk starts on 2017-06-26 at 10:20 for 40 minutes. It takes place at the

cperl development, features, fixed security issues, future.

perl5 is not going anywhere, and many have their doubts with perl6.

More problematic is that perl5 is piling up more and more severe security issues and continues to destroy more stuff than it is fixing, not talking about 20 years of no proper features which were already designed by perl6.

cperl already added many perl6 features, and is perl5 backcompat.
cperl fixed proper JSON, YAML, Storable, Config, and most of the toolchain modules.
Many exciting perl6 features are in work, such as native arrays, an inliner, a jit, unexec, jit-compiled pcre2 regex, ffi, macros.
