What is it?

The London Perl Workshop (LPW) is a free one-day technical conference in Central London, United Kingdom.

Run by volunteers from the London Perl Community, LPW covers Perl 5, Perl 6 and other languages, technologies and topics. Last year we had talks on Go, BDD and mentoring developers to name just a few.

The LPW is an inclusive event and we would love to have you attend, whether this is your first time learning about Perl, or your 14th workshop. We encourage attendees and speakers from people of any age, background or circumstance, and we are open to receiving proposals for talks on any subject you think your fellow attendees will find interesting.

How can I attend, or present a talk?

To attend is free, all you need to do is create a new user account or log in and then register.

To speak please submit your proposal as soon as possible. The earlier you submit, the more likely your talk is to be accepted.

London will be very busy on the 19th of October, so we encourage you to book travel and accomodation as soon as possible.

13/09/19 Deadline for talk proposals: Mon 30 Sept

The London Perl Workshop 2019 is fast approaching on Saturday 19 October!

We've already had some great talks submitted and will start announcing these soon. If you'd like to tell people about what you have been doing with Perl 5, Perl 6 or any related topics please submit your proposal before the end of Monday 30 September.

09/08/19 Call For Papers: London Perl Workshop 2019

The London Perl Workshop is a free one-day conference about Perl and related subjects. This year's event takes place on Saturday 19th October at David Game College near Aldgate and we want you to submit talk proposals.

We want to hear about what you and the people you know have been doing with Perl and related tools. We encourage people of any age, background or circumstance to speak at our conference.

Attendees want to hear about Perl 5, Perl 6 and anything else that might interest people who use Perl.

It's a busy day, so we prefer talks lasting 5, 10 or 20 minutes, but we also accept longer talks. If you want to discuss ideas or have questions, write to us at organisers@londonperlworkshop.org. We're keen to support conventional presentations as well as less common ideas such as speakers presenting together.

Finally, if you like to hear someone in particular talk, please tell us, and encourage the knowledgeable, interesting people you know to submit talks.

We are more likely to accept talks submitted early. See you on the 19th of October!

29/07/19 Announcing London Perl Workshop 2019

With great pleasure we would like announce the London Perl Workshop 2019. After 12 years, we're moving on from Westminster University to David Game College, 31 Jewry St, London EC3N 2ET. Thanks to Westminster University for hosting us for so long. We are holding the workshop a little earlier than normal because we wanted to avoid clashing with various other events and not be too close to Xmas. We would like to invite you to join us for one day technical conference on Saturday 19th October 2019.

You could register if you don't already have an account otherwise login and register.

We are also accepting talk proposal now. If you would like to be a speaker at London Perl Workshop 2019 then please submit your proposal as soon as possible.

You are free to pick your favourite technology to talk about whether it is Perl 5, Perl 6 or any other languages/technologies.
