Mid-life upgrade for MailBox

Mid-life upgrade for MailBox aimed at Any and is held in English. This talk starts on 2025-05-13 at 14:25 for 20 minutes. It takes place at the Room 1.

The MailBox suite of email handling modules were mainly implemented between 1999 and 2004. Since, it was well maintained for bugs and documentation issues, but did never get a global overhaul. For instance, it got stuck in perl 5.8 syntax.

Meanwhile, MailBox still suits the needs for automated email processing very well. It has a couple of large users, and there is no reason to deprecate it at all. But, it is time to freshen the code base up. The NLnet Foundation sponsors me to work on this "mid-life upgrade".

In this talk, I give a show overview on what MailBox is, how it can be used, and what will get improved.
