Open Console

by Mark Overmeer (‎markov‎) (Arnhem.pm)

Open Console aimed at Beginner and is held in English. This talk starts on 2025-05-13 at 15:33 for 40 minutes. It takes place at the Room 1.

When you live in Google, MicroSoft or Apple space, then you can easily move between applications: their programs offer a SSO (Single Sign-On) and share user data between their services as if they are one. Independent service providers have organize registration by themselves, and may use "Login via Google" (etc) simplifications. This uses Oauth2 and often OpenID Connect. The related shared information is really limited and of poor quality, however.

The EU NGI project OpenWebSearch.EU tries to create shared web search facilities under EU laws. This has many challenges: it's simply not known how to interpret the GDPR on freely crawled webpages. But my sub-project focused on creating a single sign-on to get access to the many other sub-projects. A kind of "Google Search Console" front-end. Also designed for a Google scale.

Open Console simplifies service connection authorization to a level never implemented before.
