Perl modules are about making individual "things" easy to operate, and using them is usually about getting different "things" to work together.
I will use the example of two "things" that are somewhat related in facilitating XS programming: Inline::C and ExtUtils::Depends. I'll talk about enhancing their designs to get them to work together so that makers of other modules with XS can benefit from both with little or no effort.
Finally I will advocate that module-makers consider other modules that deal with related classes of information, and think about updates to their designs to create synergies that will add capabilities to users' programs or modules, for "free".
